Pathways Course

The Settlement Language Pathways to Employment / Training Program (SLPET) is a 10 week training and placement program for newly arrived refugees and migrants. The program is funded by the Australian Government Department of Education and Training.

The Pathways program includes

  • introductory vocational training in areas such as Business, Community Services and Hospitality
  • a work experience placement
  • accredited OHS training
  • English language skills for the workplace
  • workplace culture and processes in Australia
  • support in preparing for and finding a job

This free, full-time program is offered for AMEP eligible clients only who are

  • active job-seekers
  • having completed 75% of their AMEP entitlement or being close to attaining functional English.

Childcare is provided.

At the end of the Pathways program many of our students find jobs or enrol in further vocational / skills training.
